Mark Geyer & Phil Gould
68 Mary St Lilyfield
One-time Panthers enforcer and rugby league bad boy Mark Geyer, was back in the headlines in 1993 [now playing for Balmain] when he had another face-to-face confrontation with former coach, Phil Gould.
According to Rugby League Week, the premiership-winning second-rower failed "to attend the City [Origin] medical and is late for his medical the following morning and subsequently dumped from the team. He confronts Phil Gould who he presumed was behind his sacking. Geyer's excuse was that he had no money for the tollway and had to take the long route to Leichhardt Oval."
