The North Sydney Bears raised some eyebrows across Sydney in 1991 ahead of their huge local derby at North Sydney Oval against bitter foes, Manly-Warringah. As the 22,000 strong crowd filed in, they were met with a strange pre-game promotion... a Sevens rugby union match featuring the likes of David Campese and Glen Ella. Just two months later, Campese was part of the Wallabies maiden World Cup victory in England.
