Geoffrey Edelsten

Now known as the Four Seasons Hotel. The Regent Hotel has many stories when it comes to rugby league. In 1986, eccentric Sydney doctor Geoffrey Edelsten held a party at the hotel, attended by Sharks players and announced he had bought the club for a reported $2.5million as a birthday present for his then-wife Leanne. The deal collapsed within weeks.
