Ray Lindwall
57 Hudson St Hurstville
Home address of the Lindwall family and iconic dual-sport legend Ray Lindwall who played 31 games for St George. The old house has since been demolished. As fullback, Lindwall played his final game of first grade in the 1946 grand final. Ray and brother Jack also played together for St George in the 1942 grand final where the brothers scored all of St George's points. Lindwall would then turn all of attention to cricket [he had already debuted for the Aussie cricket team in March of 1946] and became one of the greatest fast bowlers the world has ever seen, averaging 23.03 for 228 wickets in 61 Tests.
