Dr Albert Lane

Camperdown Sydney NSW

'Alby' Lane studied medicine at University of Sydney, played for NSW and was captain and halfback of the Uni first grade side that appeared in its one and only grand final. After running a medical practice in Sydney and several hospitals across the state, Dr Lane was appointment as chief medical superintendent of the old Canberra Hospital for over a decade. Within the hospital, Lane had his own personal toilet with a sign hanging outside which read, "Danger, 10,000 volts-do not enter!"
