Chris McKivat

104 Broadway Chippendale

Christopher Hobart McKivat is regarded by many historians as the greatest half to ever play for both the Kangaroos and the Wallabies. McKivat toured with the Wallabies in 1908 and won a Gold medal at the 1908 Olympics in London. Upon returning to Sydney, McKivat jumped to rugby league and debuted for Glebe in 1910. Five years later, McKivat married his wife Ada at St Benedicts, which stands today.

In retirement, McKivat would coach North Sydney to back-to-back premierships in the 1920s.

At this church, St Benedict's Catholic Church, McKivat married his wife Ada.
