Norman Brothers

The Norman brothers were a famous footballing family living in the Balmain / Annandale district in the late 1890s and early 1900s. Ray, Roy, Rex and Bernard honed their skills at this park in Annandale. 

Five-eighth Ray would play a total 135 games for Annandale, Souths and Easts. He played 4 games for Australia and 22 for NSW.

Hercules Rex Clive Norman was selected for the 1921 Kangaroos Tour with Ray and Rex becoming just the second pair of brothers to play for Australia behind viv and Bill Farnsworth.

The four brothers made history in round 10 of the 1910 season in a match against Eastern Suburbs at Metters Sports Ground with all four Norman's playing in the starting side. 

The match resulted in a 12-all draw in front of 1200 people with Roy scoring both tries for the 'Dales and Ray kicking a goal.

All four would play... four consecutive games together between round 10-13. The following three weeks saw a loss to Souths 19-2, then wins against Wests 25-3 and Norths 8-0.
