1922 premiership-winning Norths prop Jim Pye died at Concord Hospital in 1971. His brother, and fellow NSW prop, Jack, played for Annandale and Glebe. Pye served Australia in World War I and was the brother-in-law of Sir William McKell - former Governor General and patron of the NSWRL.
