A legend of the Wests Magpies club, Harry Wells played 37 games for Australia and 35 for NSW. Many good judges believe Wells helped improve and create the star that would be Reg Gasnier.
It also must be noted that Wells is not actually his last name. His father and grandfather were famous boxers under the name 'Dealer' Wills but after a Melbourne writer reported the surname wrong, the boxing family went with it.
